Echoes of Colors: 색의 메아리

갤러리시몬은 이창원 작가의 개인전 <Echoes of Colors>를 8월 22일부터 10월 2일까지 개최합니다. “색의 메아리”는 작가의 작품 세계에서 중요한 요소인 Reflection의 개념을 반영하고 있습니다. 이 표현은 반사광이 작품 내부 구조에서 어떻게 서로 반사되고 확산되는지를 나타내는 작가의 언어이며, 이를 통해 작가의 독창적인 시각과 깊은 사유를 엿볼 수 있습니다. 이전에는 반사광을 만들어내는 표면의 맥락이나 내용에 집중했다면, 이번 전시에서는 반사광이 직접적으로 작동하는 조건과 그 작용에 대해 연구했고, 그 과정에서 의도치 않게 얻은 경험을 바탕으로 다양한 변주를 시도했습니다. 창문을 통해 들어오는 빛을 은은한 반사광으로 변환한 “Breathing of Reflection”에서 시작된 작업의 여정이 다음 작품들을 통해 어떻게 전개되었는지 상상이 가득한 시선으로 감상하시길 바랍니다.
Gallery Simon will hold Changwon Lee’s solo exhibition <Echoes of Colors> from August 22 to October 2. “Echoes of Colors” is an expression that came to Lee’s mind when he observed the reflections, which have formed a central axis in his work since his debut, spreading out and reflecting in various directions in the internal structure of his works. While he previously focused on the context or content of the surface producing reflected light, in this exhibition, he studied the condition in which it works directly and its effect. He also attempted many variations based on the experiences he unintentionally gained in that process. We hope the visitors will enjoy with a gaze full of imagination how his artistic journey from Breathing of Reflection, a transformation of light through the window into subdued reflection, has unfolded through the following works.
