이세경 작가(1973)는 성신여자대학교 공예과 및 동 대학원을 졸업한 후 독일 쿤스트아카데미 뮌스터에서 기욤 베일 교수의 마이스터슐러 과정을 거쳐 아카데미브리프를 취득하였습니다. 작가는 2009년 서울문화재단의 예술표현활동 지원작가로 선정되었으며, 러시아 에르미타주 미술관과 영국 사치 갤러리의 'Korean Eye 2020: Creativity and Daydream' (2020), 리움미술관 개관 10주년 기념전 'Beyond and Betwee' (2014), 독일 MARTa Herford의 'Daring to Ask – Collisions with the Collection Mart' (2014) 등 국내외 주요 미술관과 기관에서 다수의 전시에 참여하며 작품세계를 확장해왔습니다. 국립현대미술관, 리움미술관, 독일 MARTa Herford와 헤첸스 도자미술관(Hetjens-Museum), 우민아트센터 등에 작품이 소장되어 있으며, 국내외를 오가며 활발한 작품 활동을 이어가고 있습니다.

Sekyung Lee (b. 1973) studied Crafts at Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul and continued her studies at the Kunstakademie Münster in Germany, where she became a Meisterschüler under Professor Guillaume Bijl and received her Akademiebrief. In 2009, Lee was selected for an artist support program by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. She has participated in numerous exhibitions at major museums and art institutions in Korea and abroad, including Korean Eye 2020: Creativity and Daydream at the State Hermitage Museum, Russia, and Saatchi Gallery, London (2020); Beyond and Between, the 10th Anniversary Exhibition of Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, Seoul (2014); and Daring to Ask – Collisions with the Collection Marta at MARTa Herford, Germany (2014). Her works are included in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), Leeum Museum of Art, MARTa Herford, Hetjens-Museum, and Wumin Art Center.
